Well i originally chose to research and plan an advert which advertises new TV channels in newspapers, i have searched on the Internet for newspaper adverts about TV channels, nothing came up so i tried to be more specific so i typed E4 adverts in newspaper, MTV adverts in newspapers and Dave newspaper adverts. But nothing, so i decided to make my work easier and try the other task.
So now for my second task i will be make a double spreed advert advertising my new TV channel in a magazine.
I have looked in a few magazines and found a couple of adverts, but they are not advertising the TV channel they only advertise different shows of the channel which i believe is the next best thing.
Here are the adverts i have found:
Top Gear
Nintendo TV- which could be a sort of channel

This is the top gear advert which shows Jeremy Clarkson in one of top gears shows where they go to South Africa, its the most dangerous top gear yet.
The colour scheme is simple but eye catching the RED is symbolic of blood, as the story says that its a very dangerous show in this week one. The black and white shows how serious they are trying to be but we all know top gear is about boys and their toys.
The lay out is very simple, picture on one side taking up an A4 page and a insight about the show indulging the audience with a big image and a short story.
This Advert work well it states a message and show how serious they are by the colour scheme. Big bold picture and simple story works well not over crowded, it would appeal to an older age range.

This advert was in a gaming magazine which appeals to a much younger audience compared to the top gear magazine above, you can tell this by the amount of colour uses, all the images used and the fact the advert is on a Nintendo TV were you can play and watch. I don't believe this advert works, there is far to much going on. It would appeal to youngsters who are full of life and love gaming but thats only appeals to a small percentage of 13-21 year olds. Its successful for its target audience and i like the left side of it i just would prefer something more structured. I would say it doesn't have a colour scheme but the two main colours that stand out are Green and Blue which are stereotypically boys colours. So they have narrowed down there target audience in this advert.

Another advert about TOPGEAR, however this one looks entertaining and fun compared to the first one. This one would appeal to a target audience about 10-30 years old, because it looks professional and exciting. The colour scheme it mostly Black white and red, which again connotaion for blood and danger showing that this show is dangerous and entertaining.
Stereotypically there were two adverts about top gear in a car related magazine and a football related magazine. FourFourtwo and Upfront.
